The Course
Golf has been played over Gullane Hill since at least 1650. Three courses now climb it, and the seventh tee on No. 1 gives the finest view in Scottish golf — the Forth, the Lammermuirs, Edinburgh's skyline and Fife across the water in one turn of the head.
The links themselves are old-fashioned in the best sense: fast fescue, natural humps, greens that reward a running ball and punish a proud one.
It sits four minutes from Muirfield's gate and fifteen from North Berwick, which makes it the natural centre of an East Lothian week — three great links, one village, no long drives.

Which Gullane course should we play?
Gullane No.1 for the view from the hill and the championship pedigree; No.2 and No.3 are excellent companions for a second round or a shorter afternoon.
Can Muirfield be added to the same day?
When the club is receiving visitors, yes — Muirfield sits minutes away, and we pair it with lunch at Greywalls. Muirfield play is by invitation and cannot be guaranteed.
How far ahead should we book Gullane?
Nine to eighteen months for the summer months, and longer where a specific date matters. East Lothian fills quickly around Open years and major amateur weeks. We hold provisional dates while the rest of the week is built around the round.
Are caddies and clubs arranged for us?
Yes. A senior local caddie is booked per guest as a matter of course, and premium rental sets are placed in the car if you would rather not travel with your own. Clubs can also be shipped ahead and waiting in the pro shop.
Do you handle transfers and accommodation as well as the tee time?
Always. A round is never sold alone — the private car, the house you sleep in, the table booked for dinner and the pacing of the day are arranged together, so the golf sits inside a week rather than beside it.
What happens if the weather closes in?
Scottish links play in most weather, and the round usually goes ahead. Where a course closes, we move the tee time within the week or substitute a comparable links nearby, and any unrecoverable green fee is returned in full.
