The Course
Nairn opens by walking you straight out along the shore. For the first seven holes the beach is a slice away on the right, close enough that a firm wind will put you on the shingle without much help from you.
Then it turns inland through gorse and heather, and the course changes character entirely — tighter, more strategic, and with greens that were built for firm running golf rather than target play.
It has held the Walker Cup, the Amateur and the Curtis Cup, and it wears none of it heavily. The clubhouse lunch is one of the best in the north, and Inverness is twenty minutes west.

The firth wind builds through the morning. An early start keeps the opening seven honest.

Our usual choice when Nairn is paired with Castle Stuart the same day — one in the morning, one after.

Evening light on the shore
Midsummer only. The beach holes at low sun are the reason people come back.
